Teamwork

Supporting each other

We work together as a team to provide the best possible outcomes for the children in our care. We support each other in a friendly and considerate way and we help each other where we can – upholding the trust we place in each other.  We apply our professional abilities with good spirit and humor.

Using strong teamwork as a basis for our teaching style, we naturally encourage our children to do the same in their learning and social lives. The skills learned from team building are important parts of personal development in children and working as a team gives the opportunity to communicate with others and work towards a common goal.

When the children are given the opportunity to work in teams they develop confidence in their own abilities, as well as learning how to work with others and communicate in order to achieve their goals.

Key Person

We follow the Key Person approach at Children’s Oasis.  Research has shown that a Key Person approach is the most effective way of ensuring that children develop a strong relationship with a significant adult in the nursery.

The Key Person approach will develop secure attachments with the child and strong, professional partnerships with the parents that will support all aspects of nursery life, including settling in and transition times. We recognise every child’s individuality, efforts and achievements and believe that relationships between adults and children are crucial for the child’s happiness and security.

The Key Person approach gives every child the reassurance to feel secure and cared for, helping them to become familiar with the nursery environment and to feel confident and safe within it.

The Key Person meets the needs of each child in their care and responds sensitively to their feelings, ideas and behaviour.

They are in the best position to understand your child’s individual needs and to share information with you about your child’s experiences in nursery.

They will observe them in their play so that they can plan future opportunities and experiences that best meet their needs and interests.

Parent Partnership

We believe that parents of children at our school are the primary educators of their children and should be centrally involved in their child’s experiences and development.

We realise that it is imperative we gain the trust and confidence of you, the parent. We want you to be happy with what we do and how we do it.  We also pride ourselves in understanding the importance of instilling confidence and enthusiasm in your child from an early age.

Each child has an Incredible Learning Journal which will be a record of your child’s interests, significant achievements and development throughout their time with us.

We welcome parental contributions (this would include all significant people involved with your child) and we encourage parents to access their own child’s journal at any time.

Effective communication means there is a two-way flow of information, knowledge, and expertise between parents and staff.  All of our staff are available daily to give feedback about your child’s day and to share significant events with you.

Every interaction with you is based on a caring, professional relationship and respectful acknowledgment of the feelings of you as parents and those of your children.

We will always have extremely fond and treasured memories of our girls time at Children’s Oasis. The teachers are so creative and fun, always thinking of new ways to engage the children and the thoughtful and varied outdoor areas were always a favourite of theirs. We loved the intimate, friendly feel and all the little extras which makes it feel that you are part of a community. Thanks for everything, we really couldn’t have asked for a better start and we will miss you all.

From Paul and Katy Rogers (Dad & Mum)

What I love about Children's Oasis is how well looked after my children are and how comfortable they feel. They know the names of most of the staff and will always say 'hi' and often stop for a chat. It's a calm and nurturing environment.

From Zoi (Mum)

We love children’s Oasis Nursery. It has been a part of our lives for over 8 years with both our girls going there. The staff are all amazing and really care for the children.

Muchas gracias Children's Oasis!!!

From Adriana (Mum)

Both my boys were at Children Oasis from the time they were 2 and until they were 4 years old; first attending the Spanish Programme and then, FS1. Both classes were great! The teachers are incredibly professional and caring. The communication with the parents is excellent and reports are detailed. They make learning fun and engaging for the kids who learn through hands-on activities and play. The facilities are beautiful with lots of stimulating and educational books and toys.  I couldn't ask for more during those early years for my children!
