Our nursery recycling program

Children’s Oasis Nursery would like to introduce our own recycling program and we need your help.

As you know recycling helps to protect the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce waste.

We believe that it is important to teach children the benefits of recycling from a very young age teaching them how they can make a difference. This activity will be carried out in all the classrooms and incorporated into our daily lesson plans.

We aim to use appropriate recyclable materials in the nursery for our arts and crafts and also for use in our outside recyclable shop where the children love to play.

We would appreciate your help by collecting recyclables at home with your child and then bringing them into the nursery for us to use, it would be helpful for you to explain why you are collecting the items and what they may be used for.

There will be a collection bin outside the main entrance every Sunday.

We will be collecting and reusing items such as empty shoe boxes, cardboard food boxes, paper grocery bags, empty paper towel rolls, plastic food containers, egg containers and empty plastic bottles etc.

We ask you to please ensure that all items are:

1. Properly cleaned and dry with no traces of food or liquid still present

2. No containers have been exposed to nuts (this is to ensure our no nut policy is maintained)

3. All items have no sharp edges

4. No glass products

5. To avoid over-collection please only bring your items on the scheduled collection day (if Sunday is not your child’s day and you would like to contribute please bring your items straight to the clinic).

We will always have extremely fond and treasured memories of our girls time at Children’s Oasis. The teachers are so creative and fun, always thinking of new ways to engage the children and the thoughtful and varied outdoor areas were always a favourite of theirs. We loved the intimate, friendly feel and all the little extras which makes it feel that you are part of a community. Thanks for everything, we really couldn’t have asked for a better start and we will miss you all.

What I love about Children's Oasis is how well looked after my children are and how comfortable they feel. They know the names of most of the staff and will always say 'hi' and often stop for a chat. It's a calm and nurturing environment.

Both my boys were at Children Oasis from the time they were 2 and until they were 4 years old; first attending the Spanish Programme and then, FS1. Both classes were great! The teachers are incredibly professional and caring. The communication with the parents is excellent and reports are detailed. They make learning fun and engaging for the kids who learn through hands-on activities and play. The facilities are beautiful with lots of stimulating and educational books and toys. I couldn't ask for more during those early years for my children!
