When you send your child to nursery, you should be assured that they are getting the best nutrition possible. The following 6 nutrition practices are ones you should expect from your child’s nursery
Know where your child’s food is coming from. Is it prepared at the nursery? If so, who is the supplier?
Maybe your nursery is partnered with an outside company. Children’s Oasis Nursery works with Pinch Gourmet, one of the leading gourmet catering companies in Dubai, to offer healthy and delicious meals.
Wherever your child’s food is coming from, you should ensure that the provider meets all food safety regulations. They should have a good reputation and the required certifications and licenses. The food should be properly stored and served according to industry standards. If you don’t know, ask.
Your child’s nursery should provide healthy food. After all, they are still growing and developing, and need the proper nutrition to do so. Healthy, balanced meals also make sure that your child stays full and has the energy needed to thrive at the nursery.
Menus should include items that are wholesome, balanced, and filled with fibre. Some good examples include:
It is important for nurseries to avoid things like excess sugar, fried foods, and dishes with a high salt content.
The food your kid is served should not only be healthy but also taste good. It should be obvious that care was taken into preparing the dishes and offering a variety of selections.
If you have a picky eater on your hands, make sure your nursery has alternatives or welcomes packed lunches. Also find out how the staff handles picky eaters. Do they positively encourage children to take at least a few bites?
You should also be aware of how many meals per day your child will be getting. Does the nursery serve breakfast and lunch? How often is snack time, and what kind of treats can your child expect?
Snacks, like the other food, should be void of excess sugar and salt. Your nursery should provide items such as apple slices or carrot sticks for your child to munch on.
Does your kid have an allergy? You should make yourself aware of your nursery’s guidelines surrounding food allergies. Know whether or not they serve the food your child is allergic to or even if it’s allowed in the building. The staff should be made aware of your child’s allergies so that they can provide the proper care.
At Children’s Oasis Nursery, parents can make Pinch Gourmet aware of any food allergies their child has. The catering company will then provide appropriate alternatives so that they can also safely enjoy lunchtime.
In the event that your child did have an allergic reaction, the staff should be properly equipped. Do they, for instance, have access to the right medications? Are they trained in administering it and further handling medical emergencies?
Even if your child doesn’t have any food allergies, it is still important to be aware of your nursery’s allergy policies. Knowing if the nursery is a nut-free zone will make sure that you don’t send your child to nursery with food that could harm others.
Does your child have gluten or dairy sensitivities? Are they on a vegetarian or vegan diet? See if the food providers at your child’s nursery have food that caters towards these considerations.
Your child’s nursery should provide healthy, tasty food for your child while making sure that they are safe from any allergies. Conduct thorough research on nurseries you are looking at, and if your child is already in nursery, you should make sure you are aware of these concerns.
We will always have extremely fond and treasured memories of our girls time at Children’s Oasis. The teachers are so creative and fun, always thinking of new ways to engage the children and the thoughtful and varied outdoor areas were always a favourite of theirs. We loved the intimate, friendly feel and all the little extras which makes it feel that you are part of a community. Thanks for everything, we really couldn’t have asked for a better start and we will miss you all.
What I love about Children's Oasis is how well looked after my children are and how comfortable they feel. They know the names of most of the staff and will always say 'hi' and often stop for a chat. It's a calm and nurturing environment.
We love children’s Oasis Nursery. It has been a part of our lives for over 8 years with both our girls going there. The staff are all amazing and really care for the children.
Muchas gracias Children's Oasis!!!
Both my boys were at Children Oasis from the time they were 2 and until they were 4 years old; first attending the Spanish Programme and then, FS1. Both classes were great! The teachers are incredibly professional and caring. The communication with the parents is excellent and reports are detailed. They make learning fun and engaging for the kids who learn through hands-on activities and play. The facilities are beautiful with lots of stimulating and educational books and toys. I couldn't ask for more during those early years for my children!
